| From the Where2sing.com forum: To Karaokebug: I am sure that we would all like to be able to sound a bit better than we do at times. To James.T.Orr, yes I think that karaoke would be the LAST place that anyone would want to be if bird flu ever hit Australia. That would be one way to spread it around for sure. It would only take someone coming in from a country where bird flu is at present who doesn't know that he or she is infected with that particular virus to sneeze or cough all over a karaoke microphone and there we have it - instant bird flu!! Lovely thought I don't think, maybe we should get on to other subjects other than bird flu!!!
I have to think that at least spraying and then drying the surface of microphones has to help a bit, after all it is a better than nothing. I've been around to quite a few karaoke shows during the 8 years that I have been around karaoke and I would say that only about 10% of them bother to disenfect their microphones in any way. As for the show that I am associated with, well the microphones will be well and truly 'Glen 20'ed' before the show starts on Sunday evening.
