| From the Where2sing.com forum: Baz : I would have though that those foam Microphone covers would be the greatest 'germ' traps going?.....I admit both Rosalie and I have an aversion to the things and frankly Rosalie wont even sing on any Mic with one on.....have you ever accidently touched your lips on one after the previous singer has just finished a rousing rendition of a 'Whole Lotta Rosie'?..........eeewwwwwww! yuk.....I dont mean to offend..... I know a lot of hosts use them all the time.......not for me I am afraid...;-(
The fact is that 99.9% of germs and viruses (Viri Virri?) can only survive under moist conditions......once the Mic dries out..no more germs...diassemble....wash then spray with Glen 20 and dry very very (In the sun) well ... often.......and use antiseptic wipes after every few singers would be a better way to go I would think?
I had also been thinking of uploading some of our better singers onto U tube just for fun..but after having had a look at a few U Tube Karaoke Videos already there.... Like the Chatswood Club and many Others ...both here and overseas...I think I will leave well enough alone LOL.....to me it unintentionally makes many karaoke shows seem like a very amateurish affair indeed........I dont mean to sound too critical of those who do.... as I full well understand that it would be difficult to to upload a true representation of any Karaoke show unless highly skilled in that area and/or using top end video recording gear.....what do others think.?or am I too critical after all .LOL
Anyway they are my thoughts for the day.I will get down off my soapbox now.LOL
BTW what ever happened to James T Orr ?? (Malley Boy)........I miss his though provoking Posts.....and TOM.....now thats another kettle of Fish .LOL.however he did get us to use our grey matter and provoked/initiated many a healthy discussion
