From the Where2sing.com forum:

Hi Elisabeth, (Karaoke Kool).
As I stated at the top of my post - 'Time to stir the pot'. I did not say that you posted the initial boiling point article, just hypothecised on the situation, and let others judge. In fact Vic's (Rovics) response is probably the more accurate possibility in relation to the responses.

Ah, the Werribee hotel on Thursday night. We dropped in after having tea at a local restaurant, (we live in the area).
Over the last 6-7 years Joseph, (the owner), has tried several times to have a successful Karaoke at his venue - but interestingly each time after a short period it is cancelled at it doesn't bring in enough people. Over that time the local Police have tried several times, unsuccessfully to date, to have Joseph's licence revoked as well due to consistent trouble in the venue. (Could tell you a lot more, but perhaps if we catch up at a later time).

On another track, about 6 years ago I spoke with Joseph's son, Joseph, (who was looking after things at the hotel at that time), about putting on Karaoke, but I didn't follow up with it because they wanted me to do the gig for $100 per night.

On Thursday night, the sound was certainly better than what it was last time that we dropped in for a look about 2 months ago, (different host). Reasonable crowd through the hotel of about 80 or so, all seeming to have a great time, especially when the strippers were performing in the backroom leaving only a handful of people left elsewhere, including about 3 or 4 in the Band room where the Karaoke is held.

All I can say about this gig is Good Luck.
