From the Where2sing.com forum:

TMOZ, I find it in POOR TASTE for you to say the sign was put up as you walk up when you & I know that the host told you it had been up for over half an hour ...it had fallen down & he was retaping it (you were told to ask the people you went and sat with) & I know they confirmed to you that the sign had been up for quite some time so DON'T lie as the host didn't lie to you.
I have owned and operated Ace Karaoke for over 20 years now ...I've seen every trick in the book. I advised the directors who are in charge of the comp that you had informed me you would be late, They noted that you had been VERY late whenever you turned up (we also had another contestant in the same situation) They then said if these people don't turn up before the books are closed they're out.
I kept the books open as long as possible to give you a descent chance to make it. I tried to help you out and then you want to bag the shit out of us when things don't go your way ,You have never arrived before 10.15 as you did again last night so did you have a gig on all four occasions if so how are you going to make this your new Saturday night gig to attend ,also did you work every Saturday for the last 12 weeks.
As far as getting late comers in and cutting out the second song of people who arrive well before the show eat meals and buy drinks for over 4 hours NO WAY (how would you feel if you were cut out of your second song), If you want to run a show differently please feel free to do so...then after 20 years of you making a living from it I will agree you are right and I must be wrong.
I don't like comps and never have because only the winner is ever happy, I didn't advertise this comp on where2sing and if it I didn't do it..WHY? because of all the bullshit that goes along with it.
This is how I work if you come to my show
1. Before the books are closed you will get a song in, If you arrive too late for the first bracket we will slot you in to the second.
2. Everyone is in rotation and the only time this changes is if someone is slotted in to the bracket.
3. Arrive early and you have a better chance of doing that extra song.
4. After the books are closed don't argue be nice we will take note and if someone pulls out we will try to fit you in (this rule applies to most Karaoke shows).
even my best friends will tell you that I won't make changes for them...No favourites...... and they are still my friends lol

TMOZ I have nothing against you only that you have now accused my host of lying to you about the sign WRONG if you still think that way ask Neil & Sandy you might then like to apologize to him, but the directors make the rules as they see fit - They pay me- I do as they say
If you wanted to state your case you should have waited till after the show, I would have taken you to a director and guess what....
I'm 100% sure if we told him your reasons for being late we could have talked him around. Instead you left and proved him right in his decision.
