From the Where2sing.com forum:

I reckon Roz must have been using telepathy. I've started having the same concerns about germs.Actually the mikes that have foam padding, are the scariest. So often, it's so easy to get so into a song with real intensity, (that's the good part!)
But I'll admit that I've unintenionally jettisoned a little spit on the mike and copped some from others. The foam tends to retain it ; that's why I prefer the mikes with the wire cover exposed.Still not perfect but better ,I feel.
Still, all of life has some risk,if the slightest risk was going to stop you doing just about everything that you love to do,as it is said, you might as well lie down and die.

I had a girlfriend who, over the years, was getting more and more like that. At first she enjoyed going to Karaoke with me, I encouraged her to sing ,too, she has a nice voice. Also, a couple of times, I caught her softly singing, yet is too scared to sing at Karaoke, but wouldn't.Then she started resenting me going by myself, because I was attracting too much attention, and she felt left out! After so long I decided, enough is enough!
'So Long Marianne!'
By the way, that is the name an early album by Leonard Cohen.I wish his songs, and there are lots, were on the Karaoke playlists,in Europe he has a big following since the late '60s.I'd sing all, well just about all of them!
