I know that this topic has been brought up a lot and can be a real thorn in the side of many hosts that are proposing to hold a competition, as well as the competitors, but is there any rulings on judging karaoke competitions?..
Should there be?... Whats your opinion?...
Should there be some standard basic rules to follow when judging and should they be governed?.. If not why not?
I was at the finals of a karaoke competition last night and it did cross my mind what exactly are the judges looking for.
Are they all looking for the same thing…’The X-Factor’… ultimately..
There were quite a few good singers competing last night as you would expect for a final, but nothing that really stood out.
How did they pick the top three?
There is a list of available karaoke judges on Where2sing, do they all go by a standard rule of thumb?
Also as a singer it would be nice to know what is required.
I would really like to know what people thoughts are on this, as I would like to compile a list of standard judging rules that can be used Australia wide and have it available for karaoke judges as well as competitors if there isn’t already one.
Any suggestions?
