From the Where2sing.com forum:

Anthony and David,
I did send a letter to the organisers asking them whether Dina fitted in with the criteria for an amateur that they had posted. It was anonymous as I wanted them to check the rules and if so, give the go ahead for Dina as she fitted in, or give the option to the second place getter (whom I do not know ... why do I have to know him to want the person to go if he deserves it based on the rules, of which he may or may not). At no time have I said that she does not fit into the rules of the competition. I 'questioned' that she does not mainly based on the fact that the competition rules stated this year that someone with a professional entertainment name is not deemed an amateur. Knowing that another person in the competition was disqualified for being professional I thought that it was a bit unfair for one to be disqualified when under those rules I would have thought that the 'Madonna in the Australian Madonna Show' would constitute a professional name. At no time have I said that Dina would even have been aware of that restriction for the competition, as most people were not, even yourselves.
The main gripe I had with Dina had nothing to do with cheating ... it was more that she didnt present herself as a polished performer in her interviews so that people can see that karaoke is used by polished entertainers and that realistically competitions should be open for all and sundry ... the best against the best.
Legal action is a ridiculous point Anthony. I have not slandered her if you read my posts right. I would think that it is you who is being a bit of a bully realistically.
Again I did things anonymously because I didnt want a backlash on myself when people like you misread what is being put out there and then make slanderous comments towards me. Please do not imply that I have comprehension problems. And again if you read my posts correctly, you would realise that I have said that she may fit into the rules completely or fit in with the $5000 and under rule for the year, but I really question whether she fits in with the 'professional name' rule (of which I state again she may not have been aware of any such rule!!) ... of which the proof is just to google her name ... so dont put words into my mouth about any such accusations that I may be making.
Please let this lie. As I have said before I want her to win and hope she does. I would request that the rules be looked at for the comps though as well.

I saw a parking meter guy about to book someone yesterday (he was taking a photo of the car before writing the ticket) and I asked him whether he would not book them if I put $2 in the meter. He asked me first whether it was my car ... to which I replied no, and then whether I knew the person whose car it was, to which I said no, and he still looked puzzled as to why I would do it. I put the $2 in the meter and he did not give the ticket and i walked away. There has to be no reason why someone does something apart from honesty or good will sometimes. That is all I was trying to do with this. Make sure that the rules were being followed and if not then the best person following those rules gets to attend. There was no intent for slander against anyone ... but that is why I wanted to be anonymous ... because just like the parking meter guy people perceive that you must have some negative agenda to hurt someone. Arent we great as human beings that this is our first assumption!!
