| From the Where2sing.com forum: Billy T ... My goodness !! John Lennon ... Was it that long ago ? Where did two-thirds of a lifetime go? Mmm... two-thirds of that two-thirds .... (pauses to make sure I didn't say ... ''threw turds'' 3 times) .... has been spent singing Karaoke ! They say time flies when you're having fun !! Can you imagine if John & George were still with us & the Beatles did a reunion tour ? I've no doubt it would be the biggest of all reunion tours. When I was in Europe earlier this year with my two beautiful daughters (both now in their twenties) , we had very limited time & had to make some hard decisions with our itennary,As much as I wanted to go to Dublin for two nights with them, I chose instead to go to Liverpool to see Mathews st where the Beatles played & developed thir careers .It was a sunday night & there were lots of little bars with heaps of live bands playing. It seemed like I was in a ''musical Mecca'' ...
I found a little pub that had Karaoke on & sang that night with a sense of fulfilment that must only come from a spiritual pilgramage. I remember ringing Mike Rophone & bragging to him that I was following in the Beatles footsteps. Those of you reading this who were too young to know how massive & influencial they were, may be surprised to know that when John Lennon said ... ''we're now bigger than Jesus' ... he was right !!
By the way it was great to meet you & Noelene on your recent trip east. Well done for making the effort to come & meet some other members of Australia's Karaoke family, & it just proves what genuine Karaoke enthusiasts you both are.
