I've generally found quite the opposite regarding musicians and their views on karaoke - when I've mentioned that I love to go to kraraoke, I often find interest amongst friends. Several have come to karaoke with me over the years, and more often than not have complained that the standard of singing is so high that this is not really what they consider karaoke. I've also found that most musicians either go to karaoke occasionally, or have gone in the past - and recognise the wide variety of talent in singing there.
