To me .....Australian Idol is a competition which seeks to find an entertainer..... or a potential entertainer .....who naturally has that something special (X Factor if you will).........someone who is able to command the attention of an audience.....be it either by singing ability or by stage presence (usually both)..to me Kate has neither....thats not to say that ALL of the Idol contestants would not be able to make a go of it as professional entertainers..because they probably could.
For one moment just imagine KATE as our new AUSTRALIAN IDOL 2009.......and then being presented to an overseas audience as the VERY BESTof new Australian talent on offer????.......I dont think so !!.........'yeah no wurries'
I have always found it unfortunate that often its the very worst of Karaoke singers that try out for Idol.......we saw 4 regular RG singers on TV in the early Idol tryouts in Brisbane......they were tragic!!...one even ended up in tears believing she really had what it takes.dear oh dear !!...LOL
Getting back to Davids post earlier..............generally singing Karaoke is far easier than singing with a band.........a good host can easily bury a poor singer in the sound and consequently have them believe that they can really sing when in fact they are tone deaf and musically challenged.LOL
