| From the Where2sing.com forum: Regarding the 'In The News' forum news about Brisbane's Valley - when did it stop being dangerous? I remember some years ago before Brunswick Street had the 'Mall proper', and it was just a bit of painted tarmac with oversized flower pots, I was walking down there in the afternoon and was accosted by 6 or 8 kids trying to stop my walking, and demanding money and showing me a knife. The oldest wouldn't have been thirteen, and a couple of the smaller ones were trying to stick their hands in my pockets while the older two or three were threatening me. Mid/late afternoon in the Valley perhaps 10-15 years ago. It's always been rough there - I think it's safer now than ever before... but maybe there's more value in the news now that more people go there (for the excitement and the roughness).
(Seen some obvious trouble-maker thrown backwards over some bollards in that Mall a couple of years ago, mind you...lol).
