I take a hell of a lot from most of the more 'special' punters but I have lost it a few times with a couple of serial pests. After hurling abuse at me for 3 weeks in a row, one drunk at the Oxford was shocked when I told him he was a trouble maker and couldn't sing. I then got the usual dribble about how he's the best singer we have etc despite making it through My Way without hitting a single note in key OR in time! Now that takes REAL talent to be that awful.
Another blow in at the Oxford one day was a mature aged woman with her 4 friends. The friends individually came up after every song yelling at us that this woman should be next. We had 25 singers on the books at that point and all of them had arrived before her and were in the process of getting their first songs. The singer then decided to come up and scream at me that I wasn't letting her sing because she's a woman! She spat at me, punched me and then got upset when I tore up her request slip lol
Remind me again why I do this job? :-)
