| From the Where2sing.com forum: Peter M: I think for us the biggest factor is that we have never been 'caught out' manipulating the rotation (having the hand in the cookie jar so to speak) ..........we manipulate the rotations ( only sometimes) we believe....with the best interest of entertainment in mind ...not just for Karaoke singers but for the hundreds of people that walk past the RG in search of their next venue to visit.....with a bit of luck they stay ...sing a song .....spend some money......I suspect that TOO many hosts believe that they are at a venue providing a service ONLY to Karaoke singers ....and not providing 'Entertainment' to a wider audience
.IF .....i told new singers (unfamiliar with the Venue or Karaoke ) on their arrival ....that the 'Books are Closed'!! ......I may as well be telling them to 'Bugger Off'!!and we would probably never see them again..........
I am often surprised at the number of Virgin singers that DO return some weeks later (earlier this time and often with fewer friends or alone) after having been able to sing a song (Very Late) and liked the experience..... when in fact technically we should have told them 'the books are closed'!!!
