In Victoria, from what I know, a normal pub 8/10 week gig pays $200-$250 PER SHOW.
So, 8 weeks X $200 = $1600 (at the low end)
And 10 weeks X 250 = $2500 (at the high end)
So, an 8/10 week gig pays betwen $1600-$2500 in total for the ENTIRE 8/10 week stint.
Doubling that means $3200-$5000.
I am saying that one of my corporate gigs (end of financial year function or an end of calendar year function) pays $4400 per gig (incl GST). That said, it's a long gig - me and my performers have to be there from 6.30pm, and won't be pulling up stumps till around 1-1.30-2am.
That's what I meant when I said = 1 X good corporate gig = 1 X entire 8/10 week pub stint.
Even the lavish private functions that I do pays upwards of $2000 (and I only do lavish private do's).
I am lucky in the one sense that I don't rely on my karaoke business income, so I can pick and chose the niche market I want.
