If you are a singer wanting to get a little bit of exposure then look no further because Perth Star is the opportunity you have been searching for! The show is similar in style to Australian Idol- more details are below.
The audition details are:
Date: 24th of January 2010
Venue: Subiaco Arts Centre
Time: between 10am until 4pm (singers are asked to come at 10am to register their audition to receive a number for when their audition is)
Singers are able to sing 30 seconds of what ever song they would like to sing which includes original songs (instruments such as guitars are permitted). The judges will then vote on your performance but the singer will not be notified until approximately 4pm on the same day when the Top 30 is announced. Singers are asked to be back at the Arts Centre (if you decide to leave for lunch etc) for the announcement of the Top 30 at 4pm sharp. If you are chosen to be in the Top 30 then you are required to stick around until about 6pm when the challenge is announced and the singers choose their songs.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Top 30 Singers are given just over a week to learn their song with one scheduled rehearsal time with a voice coach. The Top 30 will be on the 4th of February 2010 (from 6pm) where the Top 20 is announced by the judges after the performances. Singers are given one week to learn their chosen song with one scheduled rehearsal time with a voice coach. The Top 20 will be on the 11th of February 2010 (from 6pm). The top 10 are announced by the judges after the performances. Both the Top 30 and Top 20 will be held at the Subiaco Arts Centre.
If singers reach the Top 10 process then they will be given themes each week to pick songs from. Each week one person is eliminated by the judges until there is a winner. A unique challenge will be undertaken by the singers each week if they are put into the bottom 2 but this challenge will be announced when the Top 10 is decided. All shows will be held on Thursday nights commencing the 4th of March 2010 at the Subiaco Arts Centre. Tickets for audience members will be sold through BOCS Ticketing (so if you do not make it to the Top 10 please come along to the shows to support the other singers; friends and family are urged to come along also to support the singers. Tickets will be roughly $14-$15 each.)
