Regarding one person laptop shows, with the exception of a couple of 'voices behind the console', here in W.A. every Quality Laptop rig is run by 2 people!
And please do the sums David a One Person Laptop Rig is a Low Cost option in it's entirety and from where I sit in my business (without questioning the legitimacy of some hdd operations) are and do offer a 'Cheaper Service & Deal' due to their Cost Cutting Effectiveness with single operators ...God I know I would... it's as Greg W says 'Production Line Karaoke' a viable business model however like any other business it has it's risks ...and the major flaw I see is the 'Operator' becoming the 'Voice' which is IMHO detrimental to the entertainment value & attraction of Karaoke so much so it would be easier for the venue to opt for their own gear and as is done elsewhere have their own Karaoke Lounge!
