| From the Where2sing.com forum: I run a 2 person karaoke show using laptop, and I also purchase discs. I also own multiple players. As for playing punters discs, a simple AV switch box from Dick Smith will only set back around $30. This allows a normal karaoke disc player so you can always switch across. I agree it is easily possible to run a 1 person laptop show, however I think 2 people gives the chance to interact with the audience and I think that its essential to do this!
As has been said earlier, the quality of the file playing on a computer is not audible to the normal human ear, and if it was that important, the file can be ripped at a higher bitrate, though the larger file size hardly makes it worth it!
I find it amusing to hear the discussion re the lyrics syncing... The file ripped to a pc is just data, the same as it is on a player, its just simply not possible for a song to be *out of sync*, and if the song does appear to be out of sync, I would bank that the original disc is most likely the same!
Many more thoughts on other topics (I must say logging in tonight and seeing 24 forum posts was more than I have seen in the last year) but that is where I'll leave my thoughts for tonight...
