LOL @ singing requests for the neighbours. Good Onya Roz, that's a new one.

Several people I know have DVD players (that play CDG and VCD) hooked up to their TV's and Stereo's for home singing and/or practice. It seems to be the cheapest and best way to get close to the real thing. But, karaoke is karaoke and now on mobile phones. With a compatible DVD player, you get the bonus of not having an extra piece of equipment and you can watch movies or just play CD's.

Thank You to ... 'sing a song etc' for being appreciative and supportive of hosts, 'without kissing up to us' of course. After singing at karaoke for a few years, it sure has been an eye opener and a learning curve hosting shows, you see things from a whole different perspective on the 'other side' of the desk. Tonight was a great night at karaoke for me, really enjoyed doing the show tonight, some places and/or some nights I don't always, but that is very rare. A good example of what I was talking about, is the 'Just One More' syndrome after the Manager has told you that's it. Now, as a punter, I'd be going 'One More, One More', but as host, it's different. Tonight was like any other, but one guy started calling me names when I wouldn't play 'just one more' song at the end of the night, even though I had looked after him and given him 2 songs even though it was late in the night when he decided he wanted to sing, but that's me. NOW, the ladies on a hens night, thanked me for a wonderful time etc, more than one gave me good feedback on there way out and that turns things right around and makes you forget any drama's along the way. I'll sing and go all night, but once the venue confirms 'The End', that's it as they pay me and none of us want to lose a gig. Anyway, don't want to take up too much space here on the forum. Been awhile since I posted, but I read them religiously none the less. KARAOKE RULES !!
