From the Where2sing.com forum:

MUSIC ADDICT: Deans show is not user friendly. When I go to karaoke it is for ME. The Singer. Not for me to go and watch the KJ prance around all night and hold up the procession of singers. The night we were there, many singers were looking at their watches and looking at each other with bored expressions. To watch singers raise their eyebrows each time he pumps his fist in the air was pretty normal. They were highly amused at his dance steps for they are ridiculous. Wouldnt be too bad if he was running an aerobics class from the 80's.

I go to clubs and 'shows' to 'watch' other people perform. karaoke is for the regular people to get a chance to perform. Something they may not otherwise get a chance to do. Call it egotistical, call it what you will. I do believe this is the purpose of karaoke. If this is where he is going in life, get there quickly and leave karaoke to the people who want to RUN shows for KARAOKE GOERS.
