From the Where2sing.com forum:

whilst it is true, singers want more songs, i find at my shows inthe first bit of the night the rotation is small and singers get lots of chances to sing, bit weigh this up against singers wanting a large crowd later in the evening to cheer then on etc.. i can see where you are coming from there jules.... i know of hosts singing every rotation one song, but more than one time may be a bit much..i have heard of a host doing a small caberet selection b4 a gig, that people come along to see and really like...as a host i sing a few songs over the night and this is becouse,,,i always have a song up my sleave just incase a singer is off to the loo or on the pokies etc, got to keep the music happening,( i have played music in between karaoke songs, but have founf to many people going on with, dude this is not my song, and turn it off its putting my inner ear of etc..)and also cousei love to sing as well, but the host may also use the chance to reset levels and eq, optimising the karaoke experience for the singers, anyone knows karaoke singers come in at all levels and eqs,it gives the host a chance to reset things back to a good sound....yeah but saying that if i dont sing as a vistor to a karaoke show in over an hour i start getting withdrawals hehehe, ah the highs and lows of stardom..
