| From the Where2sing.com forum: Wolfie , although many City & suburban folks give little or no thought to what happens in the country / bush , its like another world to many but the thing is what happens in the country / bush ALWAYS sooner or later '' flows '' on to the city ie ... bad droughts and city folks start paying higher prices at the supermarket check-out etc , so with these silly Governments decisions , higher fees , stopping people from smoking in country pubs when there isn't enough population around to cover the lost of the existing traditional pub patrons so sooner or later something must give and we are now seeing that country / bush hosts are making there way to the Big-smoke to carve out a buck
Wolf has now got 2 monthly gigs ( maybe 3 soon ) in Melb and is on the hunt for more , i know of another host who has been doing quite a few gigs in Melb for the past year because work has dried up in his country area
and only to-day i spoke to another from the S/W Victoria who will be making his way to the Big-smoke for work
These are all very capable operators who have had many years in the business and they all are very good with PR and selling there abilities sadly because of the the reasons i have stated in previous posts work around the country / bush areas is just not there anymore , 2 or 3 years ago there was buckets of gigs happening in so many towns and country hosts were able to leave the city gigs mostly for the city hosts and only to happy to do that , but as i said at the start of my post .......What happens in the country / bush sooner or later the city folks will feel it , so with every jobs a country host finds in the city means a city host is missing out and paying the price for it .
