| From the Where2sing.com forum: Oh ! if this is the case then Why is the Government bring in a Law soon to make it compulsory to have water freely available if its already Law ? , in fact i read yesterday some people are talking about having those '' water cooling machines ''' spotted around the pubs , hey pubs are businesses and are there to make as much profit as possible with in the boundaries of the law , pretty much like karaoke hosts who like to earn as much profit as possible , and so what if a bottle of water is $5 , i've have seldom been to a karaoke show where i find spending at least $50 ( but i always seem to spend more ) is great value for the entertainment i'm receiving , so i think the odd $5 is only a token price to pay for a good karaoke show ..
But anyway i'm more concern how this '''Law '' will effect country pubs already under much financial pressure because of the '' worst draught ever / recent no-smoking laws / declining populations / 400 % rise in licensee fees etc.
I would love to hear '' Sammo's '' opinion on this as he also understands the 3 sides of karaoke ( punter / owner manager of license venue / host ) .
This is bad news for many non gaming pubs..
