From the Where2sing.com forum:

David just received your Karaoke News Email.

I always like to see your spin on what the Karaoke future will look like and also to read what new venues are starting Karaoke or what venues have stopped.
I noted with interest your thoughts that discs bought with thousands of dollars will sink to a value close to zero.
Sorry mate but I disagree.

Yes Karaoke discs have come down in price over the last 10 years but are still worth their weight in gold.
For the Karaoke Hosts that have gone from discs to computer and transfer shifted the tracks off the discs, they are still legally required retain those discs.

It is only new Hosts that are starting up using computers that will download the songs what they want from the internet and also Hosts that are already using computers will naturally continue to download songs.

If I was just starting up I would be buying cheap discs as well as downloading as I could get the basic songs for a cheaper rate than just downloading.

I often have emails from people around the world asking me if I could tell them where they can buy a disc that has a certain song on it that appears on my web page.
Most want to buy the disc so they can practice at home and take it to their favourite Karaoke Venue.

So I will be definitely hanging on to my discs as when or if I do go to computer then legally they are my proof of purchase when shift transferring.

Meet karaoke hosts and singers in the Where2sing.com forums . . .

KARAOKE in Australia

You've found the #1 website with the original and biggest karaoke gig listings database listing nearly 1,000 gigs across all states of Australia - each listing with full venue name, address, phone number plus extensive information about the gig itself. Read feedback from singers who have already visited the venue, and see information such as songlist size, crowd size, type of singer and even how much applause you can expect when you visit each gig.

Or visit the forums where both singers and hosts meet and chat - including State-chat forums where you can make friends whom you'll meet up with at a venue near you.

And there are the Gig Reviews, the constantly updated 'National Top 10 Karaoke Venues' chart, specialised lists of venues for Under 18s and currently running Competitions, lists for karaoke rooms, restaurants, karaoke hosts and supplliers, and karaoke news from all around the world.

Of course, the best way to keep up to date is by opting in for the FREE weekly Karaoke News Email.
