Damn Mallee you're good!! Yes I was sitting down!! Now, regarding what happened at The Sphinx tonight, I would firstly like to congratulate Ivan (1st place), Mykel (2nd place) and Christian (3rd place) for making it through to the Vic Regionals. Good luck guys and let's do it for the great South West Vic! Anyhoo!! I ended up doing Kings Of Leon's old fave 'Sex On Fire' and BOY!! WHAT A RUSH!! By far, without blowing my trumpet too hard, was very much the crowd favourite! I gladly nailed the lyrics and my pitch and absolutely belted it out. My good mate (jackstbernard) said to me 'well there's not much else you can do, you gave it your all' which was heartening, but as the results show, to no avail. Only thing I regret was not getting it on video to submit on youtube. Oh! And an honourable mention to Paul Ramia (Co-Proprietor of The Sphinx) for actually getting up and giving me the biggest blast from the past I've had for awhile. I used to frequent The Sphinx back in 1992-95 when it was call The Golf View Hotel, back then both Paul and myself would occasionally do 'Taking Care Of Business' by BTO (not together but individually depending who got in first) and this was of course back when the Pioneer Video Discs were big (in more ways than one I am sure all you hosts are thinking!!). Thanks Paul, it's good to see some things in this world never change. Very refreshing!
