| From the Where2sing.com forum: While we have a few MPEG versions of karaoke songs, almost all of our tracks are zipped mp3+G. We have about 35,000 files (give or take) taking up 130Gb (this is down from 650Gb without taking out duplicates). All of these songs are on internal hard drives which we find make it much quicker to load and read. Also, external hard drives just mean one more thing that you can break, go missing or forget to pack!
As for transferring songs from discs, don't forget to pay your Format Shifting License! This is a recurring fee (annual I think) and really makes the 'digital download only' business model very attractive.
