| From the Where2sing.com forum: MB: The Blanket License fee isnt an annual fee, it is a fee that you pay to transfer songs from disc, Lets say you transfer 18,000 songs, you purchase a license to transfer this amount. If you intend to keep buying discs then you need to renew the license the following year.
As it works, The license lets you 'format shift' a given number of songs within the year of purchase of the license, if you were to transfer your entire disc collection in the one year, then never again buy another disc you wouldnt have any need to purchase another blanket license. You would only need to buy another one if you go over the number of tracks that you 'format shift' or if you continue buying physical discs and copy them onto hard drive
In your case, you'd buy it once, transfer your entire library (or however many songs you wish to license), then move to the download sites and you can merrily expand your library and not need to worry about any more :)
