| From the Where2sing.com forum: james, well i didnt think off that... so managers get in the good and popular hosties, use them to build a crowd and then employ a no frills host... i have heard a few managers say, they like to rotate karaoke hosts to keep it freash and offer variety,,mmm crap!!!! i have noticed one venue emplying an industry leader then move onto a cheepy, so now is see what you mean by that.....i think education is the way to go, and people participating in this forum can help, like yourself.. i am one to admit that i am far from knowing everything,,i also can see that offers of hosting 100 to 300 dollars cheeper ar atractive to venue managers, now is there a diffent way of looking at it?....a rating system?an association of hosts? rate of pay based on performance(independantly determined).....a karaoke booking agent that keeps it fair...maybe changes to government law thingies that make karaoke gigs a minimun rate per show or hour, based on training and tools, mmmm. a big fat salary so i can finnaly get that golden mic..hehehe....how do you get a manager of a pub to do the right thing? i dunno
