Rotation....mmm now let’s see.

There are quite a few models to use such as
1st in 1st to sing 2nd in 2nd to sing and you go back to the start when the list is exhausted.
Another one is the one I used to love which they used at the Quest Hotel in Brisbane.
It worked quite simple....a sheet of paper and only one song allowed.
This was put out for the singers to fill in and when the Show started the host would use this as round one and put a new sheet of paper out.
You could only put your name down if you had either finished your song or hadn’t had a song in the current round.
This made people put their names down for a new song straight away.
It appears to me that most complaints come from singers when the Hosts hog the mic and do more than everyone else or when the Hosts don’t have a clue what rotation is and give their mates heaps of goes.
I use to use the “1st in 1st to sing 2nd in 2nd to sing and you go back to the start when the list is exhausted” and I had very little complaints.
Occasionally when we had over 2 hours of singers in the 1st round I would add a new singer every now and then just so they could get a song in.
This was successful because I informed people constantly what I was doing.
As a singer I didn’t like a Host that treated singers as a mushroom and as a Host I always felt the best way forward was to continually explain how it worked.
Yes there were times that people queried the way I added people when it was busy but after a quick discussion and showing them the singers list it was all ok.
Oh I forgot there is also Rovics way ....and I understand the way he works because of the nature of his Karaoke Show.
