From the Where2sing.com forum:

Hi All....yes Barrytone in my opinion you can never have to many songs if you are a host that is capable of doing gigs that are far more wide ranging than just the suburban pub that caters for 18 to 30 yo's in the main ...ie... kids parties ... older persons parties ... weddings / funnels .... corporate / functions parties ... horse race courses ....underground dance parties etc etc not every gig is in a pub so you must have the wide ranging selection of songs to cater for Any booking that comes your way ...
Double songs are a pain except when they are a different rendition by either ..Artists or manufacture ...ie ... by artist ie.. '' Mad World ''' originally by tears for fears is way different to the same song by Gary Giles rendition of '' Mad World '' ... and Manufacture ... many songs are done in there own style ... some the ''' key '' may be different , the music may have different instructment on different versions etc so different versions may suit different people , i know i have my Fave versions of songs that may not suitable to others and there style of singing , but when a version of song is the same as the other versions yes get rid of them ... this is why we have so many different '' brands of TEA ''' not everyone enjoys the same '' cuppa '' and that is why life is so wonderful ... yet i can now understand why '' computer shows '' have generally '' poorer lists of songs than disc operators ..mipi
