| From the Where2sing.com forum: Well, last night was the Semi-Final of the Inaugural Competition at The Palace Hotel, Camberwell:
Well done to the 8 who got through to the Final next week (from a field of 15):
Ladies first: Roxy, Bel, Sally.
Then the Gents: The Barman, Rick, Rudy, Chris, Dan.
What a night! All contestants (but 2) really took the trouble to dress-up for the night! But I must admit there were some dreadful song choices (and of course there were some great song choices too)!
What an exciting performance by The Barman for his 2nd song - He really “got into the act” (as did some of the other contestants) with that one - properly attired with matching antics too! One of the contestants nearly went full-Monty when he whipped off his pants .... he had black tights on underneath!
PS: The night turned out quite badly - when the power-pack to the monitor died : The Barman turned MacGyver and came to the rescue, armed with with a knife and a 12-volt car battery (which one of the contestants so happened to have in her boot!) … after stripping a cable here and a cable there, and then sticking them in here and there, and hey presto, who needs a power-pack for the monitor!
