| From the Where2sing.com forum: Hey Barman...how does Vanessa Amorosi rate at 'I once saw'. At one of our venues last Friday (20/8/10) night, Adelaide SAFM Radio Station ran a stunt involving an 'office Friday drinks & karaoke' group turning up at the Glydne Hotel. the group all had a meal prior to karaoke and then went into the Sports Bar for Karaoke The station had arranged with the venue to run a Karaoke singing competition for that night only. Vanessa had been transformed into a 'sally' in her office gear and had entered the competition. Nobody recognised her and it wasn't until later in the evening when Vanessa went & changed into the real 'Vanessa' that the audience knew whom it was amongst them!
The audience received an extremely pleasant surprise and they will be talking about their night for some time.
The radio station arranged the stunt to perfection (stage managers, costume & make up artists in tow etc)...with only a handful of us knowing any details we had to keep it top secret.
Well done to Paree (host) and Scott (sound operator), I believe they did an excellent job on the night, and also for keeping a lid on the subject.
Unfortunately, I missed out seeing it all as I was hosting another gig! Them's the breaks! lol
