Some research is required I guess as to where to start when there are no available backing tracks - which may well be a blessing in disguise, in that maybe we can strip some of our favourite unavailable songs down to 'unplugged' versions with just the one backing piano or acoustic guitar .... to lower the production costs for the backing track and also to give it a unique arrangement, to suit ourselves individually.

I am trying hard to limit my wish-list of unavailable karaoke songs .... already I am doing enough stupid things like buying a set 174 VCDs the other day just to get the 24 VCDs that I am missing in my collection (yes, that's right, now I will have another 150 duplicated VCDs!!) And yeah! Mike Nesmith's 'Joanne' - I have lost track of the number of times it's been requested but I have not been able to deliver!
