| From the Where2sing.com forum: Hi all, we copped a roasting in the Chatswood comments this week & i'll answer those critisisms here in the forum as i'm not sure if theres enough room for a detailed reply. Let me start by saying some of its probably justified as we did have '1 of those days'. I was running late, I hate running late & was still taping down at 8:15, so with my head down & bum up i can see why i might have looked unapproachable. Rusty my offsider was stuck at work & running even later, he got in just after 9:00 so up till then running solo trying to catch up & stuck behind the desk certainly doesnt make for animated hosting, but then i've always tried to just move things along without to much fuss, i'm certainly not an 'In your face' host. The lighting stayed bright until 9:30 which is when i always turn it down (enough time before hand to find your songs in the book ) & allow the stage lighting to take over. The sound at Chatty is always good so i'll disregard that one !!. It was indeed a slow start & I remember on at least 1 occassion mentioning over the mic that we had 15 singers & only 17 people in the place, but when you look around a big Auditorium the unwary can assume a quick rotation without doing the maths, If you happen to be close to the end of the round, it will take an hour before you get a song. As a side note, I'm almost positive that there were no singer names called out in the first couple of hours where they were'nt present & accounted for, so i'm wondering why they say they went home without a song. It didn't get busier until around 10:00 when we did our usual '1 old, 1 new' singer rotation. Having said all this, if i had walked into Chatswood RSL on this particular Friday night based on our current standing in the TOP 10 listings, I to would have been a bit disappointed.
