| From the Where2sing.com forum: Hi all, MB your comments on earning a steady living are spot on! I have always loved to sing and started going to karaoke in my late twenties just for fun. I had an opportunity to learn how to be an operator and compere as a volunteer with a karaoke club. Through this a member invited me along to his gig to sing a set of songs. This was my dream, and one of the best nights of my life! We were later booked to do a dinner dance which went great. I got paid peanuts but I would have done it for free! After a windfall my hubbie and I bought a KJ system and started doing gigs and functions ourselves. We don't make much money at all but I think I have hit the bigtime! I am far from a world class singer but just love what I do. Being rich and famous isn't such a cool life to me. It seems to bring with it extra pressures and heaps of work, at least I'm still having fun.......................
