LB .... Dont be upset Mate , but your posts in recent times do seem to be a little skewed by the weight &/or wisdom of corporate responsibilty ..... B2Sing laid the bait about a cheap gig , & you gobbled it up !! Barman merely reflected on this . We know you now have a business to run , & the need for success can sometimes blunt the fun angle of ANY enterprise . We're all in this Karaoke industry together .... singers , hosts & managers ... & you now , are at the leading edge ... enjoy ......lol

In another angle to the debate about a supposed $20 gig . I'm continually amused by the constant breast-beating & declarations by hosts that every gig HAS to pay $400 or so . As with any business, it's not how much you've made today , but how much you've made at the end of the month , & even more importantly , how much you've turned over at the end of the year that will denote your strength & success in the industry. Obviously , how much you spend to post that turnover is important , but if you have half a business brain , that should take care of itself. If a host was to go out bush to do a promotional gig , to show those punters / hoteliers with limited shows how much fun Karaoke (still) is , what has it cost ? A bit of petrol money & your time. Of course if you send an employee to do it , the cost is greater , but with the right follow up marketing , the returns can be very rewarding. One-off / new gigs are often the most fun for a host too 'cause you can really throw yourself into it . Keep singing people ....lol
