Just a change of topic. I thought I would spend some time here telling you all a little about me . Born in Adelaide 1969 to a Scottish born mother and an Australian father . Youngest of 5 and always an attention seeker. Loved music from the day my ear worked. My mother was a singer that hung around in her early day with the Cole joye gang. She held many different jobs as I recalled as did my dad . We moved from Sydney to Bathurst when I was around 9 years old. Dad managed the local bike dealership and mum was a chef until they both must have decided they wanted to work together. Both quit there jobs and became the local taxi drivers for a short time before managing motels . We moved from Bathurst about three years later and headed off on what was to be a trip that lasted for the rest of my school years. They managed hotels all over nsw from Walget, ,Mudgee, Tamworth, hay , and way to many more to mention. In 4 years I went to over 15 high school in towns all over the state. My education was a little lacked but the life experience was awesome . I was always the littlest kid where ever I went and being the new kid in town offen had some work cut out to get past the bullies and find my spot in the picking order. Kids can be so cruel. I consider myself still that country kid living in the big smoke. When I was in year ten we moved to Sydney as my mum needed to be close to the hospital . She had cancer and list the battle just before my 17th birthday. My dad was lost without her she was the backbone of our family. I left high school and left home at 17 and got a job working on a chicken farm . I always had a passion for music and aquariums . I left the chook farm after about 6 mtgs and got a job in an aqarium shop. I managed that business for about two years. My passion for music still there but a new passion for camping sent me into a new direction . I worked at a few camping stores and managed. Boots greatoutddors , BBQ galours to name a few. Workwork and design was the next hobbie and after ten years in the camping trade it was time to get self employed . A jeff of all trades was born and contracts as show design , store design soon followed. I had a name that in the outdoor trade was well known . I design stores for fantastic furniture. Bbqs galour, hong kong, the good guys, jayco, to name a few.. I was contracted as a co ordinator for trade show around Australia and was paid great money for microphone presentions due to a vast knowage of the outdoor industry. The education of life served me well at that stage but still had a problem with reading and writing as to this day still trying to find a way to explain myself in text form using limited words that I may be able to spell. Lol w2s in the early day helped and I am sure if you knew me back then you may see a slight improvement. Perhapes lol . Now this bloody karaoke bug and were did I get it . I was at home one night when a friend I had not seen in years rang me from out of the blue . He asked me to come to the pub at eastern creek bro sing karaoke. At first I said . Karaoke you kidding me , that's corny mate. He convinced me to come down . I got up and sang a song . Pretty woman by Roy Orbison . I meet Bono that night and he invited ne back the next week. That was it I got the bug . After about a year I started to go to other shows . Went in some comps did ok and spent winnings on a pa . A local club asked me to come sing at the venue. I did around ten shows with the help of some good friends that lent me the gear I needed. I started to buy the cheap disc from capital and started s collection of disc mostly vcds . Always wanted the siundchoice but they were out of my price range then . The collection grew to over 1000 disk and the siundchoice collection was added with other top brands. My first show was a lalorpark it ran two nights a week for about two years . New management changed the area where it was held and a very busy show lost numbers due to the new space. Other venues darted to look at the show a new gigs came soon . Most still run today . A jeff of all trades entertainment was soooooooooooooooooo long as a name so just over a year ago the 4u2sing karaoke brand was born. In it short time the brand has performed well. There has been alot of hard work done by many including myself to get shows up and running. There is much more work to do but we are still in the baby stage of growing a business. As for me well. 24 / 7 in the world of karaoke soup. I love it . Yes it can be taxing , hard work, but I am not going anywhere . I will build and attempt to stay away from those that rather destory. I will always be apart of this karaoke network in Australia. While I'm alive that is . Lol . .
