From the Where2sing.com forum:

I agree with Rob after what I read on the APRA AMCOS website a few weeks back. A casual Blanket licence will exempt your copies from infringing copyright laws, contrary to what CHINA posted in his last blog. But only as long as you have copied less or as many songs as your licence will allow. And before you ask 'how many is that?' That's as many as you pay the applicaple fee for. (minimum of 500 or about $97) Then a sliding 'per-song' fee of 14.5c to 2000 and 11.5c thereafter. This can be used to change one song into many formats or many songs into another format. But each time you copy the song, even if they are the same song, you need to pay for EACH conversion. Example, if you have two systems with 10000 songs each, and you want to keep your originals as masters, you will have to pay for 20000 conversions. This works out to about $1360 per computer for 10000 songs each maximum. And once on there, the licence DOES NOT have to be renewed, just kept. But if you need more songs over your 10000, you need to get a new licence for the extras.
