I wouldn't read anything at all into the Top 10 Venues List Ratings. The worth of this list has been discussed on this forum a couple of times, and I for one cannot figure out why we still have it, as it tells us nothing really.
Everyone has different opinions on what constitutes a 'popular' gig:
- Singer A may like to sing 3 or 4 or more songs a night
- Singer B may like to sing 2-3 songs, but only if there is a big appreciative audience
- Singer C may be happy to sing only once, as long as the rest of the night is entertaining
- Non Singer A may attend because of the good singers at the particular venue
- Non Singer B may attend because the night is entertaining
- Non Singer C may attend because it's the only Venue in their local area with some sort of entertainment on.
- Singer/Non Singer D may attend because they're friends of the Host or others who attend.
These are but a few reasons for people attending and, maybe even voting for a particular gig.
Given the above, the title of 'Australia's Top 10 Karaoke Gigs', and/or 'State's Top 10 Karaoke Gigs' is rather misleading.
