| From the Where2sing.com forum: There was an article in the SMH about a month ago about the lack of any strutting front men in Australia since the death of Michael Hutchence. They talked to various people about it and threw around a few lead singers of various bands but the general consensus seemed to be that as a culture, we don't like our entertainers to be cocky and sure of themselves. We'll embrace overseas product but our homegrown talent needs to be a humble, BBQ-style mate. These are people we'd want to have a beer with, not feel in awe of.
Even if it's not true, you have to wonder if that thinking isn't self perpetuating...
