| From the Where2sing.com forum: Hi Shazzy. I will answer your questions with my opinions as a Singer. Which are only slightly different than my opinions as a Host.
(1) A good night at Karaoke is where I can sing 3 songs for the night, the songlist has what I want to sing, (nothing too extravagant), the sound quality is similar to that of a band, I can actually hear myself as well as the music on stage, the host is entertaining, and not necessarily in order, lastly, I am able to have good quality conversations with either my own friends or some of the local punters.
(2) A GREAT Host is one who can juggle a number of things - Be an entertainer without hogging the mic, be efficient and keep things moving along, look after everyone's needs with a smile, have the ability to handle difficult people, make each singer feel special, and keep all sections of the crowd, not just the singers, happy and entertained.
(3) The poor perception that a lot of people have of Karaoke, (mainly people who don't go).
