From the Where2sing.com forum:

Sorry that you lost the forum post. It's because W2S keeps track of which page you're on, and if you open a second window, it has to take any subsequently opened window, in this case now the first one, through a quick log in check. And whilst it then takes you back to the correct page, it loses any submitted info on the way. I forget why I originally coded the site this way, but it's a fundamental architecture that I can't now change until I completely re-write the site.

I had a go at creating a solution yesterday, but it's still not working correctly - so I'm having a rethink about how to do it.

There are many things that can lose information before it's posted, not only to W2S but to any site, so perhaps I could suggest that you 'copy' all submissions to the clipboard as a routine that will ensure you can always 'paste' them back if needbe - particularly posts longer than a line or two. To make the process easy, I just use the keyboard shortcuts of 'Crtl + A' to select everything, and then 'Ctrl + C' to copy it to the clipboard, and now do this almost without thinking.

For anyone else reading this post who thinks that's hard to remember, the 'Ctrl key is easy to reach because it's normally the bottom leftmost key on the keyboard, and 'A' and 'C' are easy to remember as 'turn off the AC before you leave the room'. Also, it's easy to hold down and keep down the 'Ctrl' key with your ring finger while hitting 'A' with your middle finger then 'C' with your index finger.

Since you mention that you had to log in again, that means no cookie existed for your login, and since I'm sure you'll have auto-login enabled, does this mean you were using a mobile device? If so, do you have a 'copy and paste' function on it, and do you know if you have HTML5 localStorage capability?
