| From the Where2sing.com forum: Hi All ...You know for some artists '''' personal issues '' are just Not barrier no matter what those issues are , and they go by the ''' code '' ''' i don't see it as an problem / issue and if you do then you better deal with it yourself ''' , take my co- singer '' Merv '' he is over 80 years young ( he tells me his actual age is in the better range of the 80's decade lol ) an long time country singer who has always played the guitar and up until a year or so had never sang to or seen karaoke , came to our singing group where i use the ''' Voco-pro set up and thought to himself gee's ''' how long has this been going on '' ask to come to my place and if i could '' teach him '' the karaoke method , it wasn't long before we start doing shows together ( charity night / senior cits / old folks homes etc ) we both incorporate the guitar but mostly its the karaoke backing ,
But wait there's more ,Merv recently went up to N.S.W ( north ) and got himself a professional CD produced of 12 old time country songs , at the recording studios of ''' Slim Pickens ''' ( Google slim pickens Australian blues artist ) and he has been selling them at all of his gigs ( sold over 100 at $20 a pop so he is now well and truly in profit and that is in about 3 weeks of selling ) and this weekend he is setting up his gear at our town market ( right next to the hot dog / donut Van ) and performing all of his tunes and selling his CD , so you see ''' if there is a will , there is a way ''' , god bless him and it just go to show never listen to the'' Naysayers '' ....If you have a dream , give it a '' crack '''
