Many thanks for that, and very interesting. A 336 millisecond trace is still quite fast, so I wonder whether we're not talking about slow loading as much as slow compared with how it usually is - I use Liquidweb in the US because in my tests it was faster than using a local Australian server, and a heap more reliable.
Anyway, I see that the greatest delay is happening in hops 11 and 12 where it goes from Sydney to Hong Kong (if my query for IP 202.84.140.6 is correct) - so it's taking the scenic route round to the US. I see a report that the fibre-optic submarine cable between Australia and the US is a bottleneck, so it may well be the reason that traffic is getting re-routed.
Hopefully it will not be many days until some solution is found, as, with so many websites hosted on US servers, this will be affecting a lot of people.
