LeatherBaron: I'm going to have to disagree with you on this. In this particular venue, the 2 groups of largely non-singers but large drinkers flooded the dance floor between sets. If the dance breaks hadn't been there then the groups would have probably left. The length of the dance break was 1-2 minutes which wasn't that much more than traditional filler music but cranked up. Given there was only one person running the show and the drinkers were fluffing around with song choices it was a good way to handle this imho. There were at least 30-50 singers across the night.

Remember, you cannot control what people sing once they submit their choice ;)
