| From the Where2sing.com forum: MB ... Well said ... & yes ''footy''gigs can be very trying. I guess it's a little hard to define the line between ''shits'' & ''giggles''. When singers are having so much ''fun'' they're laughing & falling all over themselves , it's easy to get the impression they are over intoxicated , & a host runs the risk of encouraging others who may actually BE drunk to get up & act the goat. As MA said , we've all seen first-time singers singing ''Summer Nights'' (good example MA !!) & giggling , missing lines &shouting into the mic , & I think most of us can handle a bit of this , as long as they're not swearing & acting totally drunk.
A couple of saturday nights ago , my bro & I went to a pub in Robina (one of Night Owls gigs) & the local Holden dealership was havig a ''Boss's Shout''. They were all getting up & singing over enthusiasticaly & we knew it was going to be a long night & in fact we didn't stay late, but I couldn't say any of them ''crossed the line'' , it was just a lot of first time singers having a go . But it does become trying when you get a string of them in a row ...lol
