After a good belly laugh from watching ''Good News Week'' I reckon singers want the same as the rest of the audience at the venue .... a host with a good sense of humour & operative wit. One who can walk the fine line between sending up the weirdos that frequent his/her gig (& Lord knows Karaoke brings 'em out !) & offending them. A good song list & good sound are important .yes ,But if a host can make people laugh in between songs, they're guaranteed a successful gig , 'cause they''ll nurture a wider audience than just the singers... lol
