LB, myabe I erred by only hinting at an overuse of swearwords, and of being jostled, rather than writing clearly - but I did so in order that these observations didn't overshadow my main point that I felt it sad that the host din't take the opportunity to present karaoke in a manner that I think would have given it greater standing in the eyes of those present; I feel there is value in those who attend karaoke, and believing it's the lowest form of music, actually going away enlightened in that it can be genuine entertainment by those amongst their ranks who have hidden talent. By the way I don't think anyone at the gig in question was drunk, and security was neither in evidence nor needed.
BarryTone, if you'd like to email me the first 20-30 seconds of each of the songs in MP3 format, I'll put them up - that should be on the right side of copyright law under 'evaluation' guidelines.
