| From the Where2sing.com forum: In my experience inexpensive normally equals too heavy or poor sound, its a tricky one, timber cabs always sound better but plastic cabs are lighter, ive just set my missus up with a pair of dB Opera 605D actives and these weigh in at 12.5 KGS half the weight of the timber cabinet Ashtons she had before and twice the power, if i were female i would ditching the Yamaha EMX (although they are a very good unit and lightweight) and going for an active system, its better to fork out a bit more dough than have back complaints like mine.
The best speakers i have heard on an EMX512SC are the high power 12's that Yamaha do but they were up around 30 KG from what i remember.
At the end of day you have to think of your health and fork out more dough for for the dB's & JBL's etc.
