From the Where2sing.com forum:

I used to use a pair of Ev SX300's hooked up to a 500 + 500 Yamaha amp, i found them a bit toppy when used on their own but the addition of a 400W active sub soon sorted that out, very light speaker that would take a fair caneing but i really had to be prepared to knock the tops off on a regular basis, the new active models are still a bit toppy but the higher end of the market these days seems to be reliant on a sub of some sort when going hard.

Vic, Funda use RCF systems, sub and two satellite type again, i've heard their rig and it's very good, dB is part of the RCF group and all products come from the one Italian factory.

I once saw a Bose L1 system in use by a trio in Mooloolaba and it sounded so so good at the beginning of the night but as soon as their was a dozen or so people dancing that was it... gone, seemed to lose all penetration to the room but their was no stage and we all know how bodys suck it all up.
