| From the Where2sing.com forum: Vic ... I'm probably showing my age here, but to me nothing beats the 70's. It was the ''Golden'' era of rock .... when bands still actually PLAYED what you heard. With groups like The Eagles , Doobie Brothers , The Cars & the inimatable & thoroughly brilliant Steely Dan (the muso's musos) ... from the US & UK outfits like Wings , Badfinger/Bad Company, Jethro Tull, Elton John & Rod Stewart , Average White Band etc ...even Abba & The Bee Gees were at their best in the 70's. And what about the great Aussie bands of the 70's ... Cold Chisel ,Skyhooks , Sherbet , Little River Band ... just for starters. Maaaaate !! You can't beat the 70'sfor creative rock ...imho .....rock on !
